Whitby, for an FC United away game, but due to the distance, its appropriated as a ‘European Away’ – hostels are booked, excuses are given and debauched weekends of wandering around abbeys and eating ice cream in sub-zero temperatures are had.

Ah, Whitby… Did you go to the Magpie?
We were there recently:

you were there for goth weekend weren’t you? don’t lie i know you were. Yeah, i have recently started eating fish, so yes i went to the famous magpie chippy… and to be honest wasn’t that impressed – there was a chippy down the road called ‘mr chips’ which as well as being named after the character from catchphrase also served up lovely fish and chips – better than the magpie i thought.

You know me, every weekend is goth weekend for me.
We thought the Magpie food was good, although who’s to say we wouldn’t have thought Mr Chips was even better?
Also, Grace got pooped on by a seagull. Ah, memories.

mr chips says clearly on the window ’simply the best’ – i cannot believe that they would put that there if they were not confident that such a boast was true
